I lost my grandmother way to young, what made that loss worse was realizing that I hadn't always made her final years the best they could have been.
My mom'mal was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in the late 80's. I had no idea what was happening to this amazing woman. What could cause her to behave so poorly? Why was she pretending to not understand? Why was she making our lives harder?
It took years for me to understand that Mom'mal wasn't misbehaving, she wasn't intentionally making our lives hard, a disease was taking her life away!
I have made it my mission to help the aging population, caregivers and family members understand the aging process, diseases progression, simple tips and tricks, as well as their own emotions along the way.
